Unity

By Olivia Uzuncan, TIWP Student

“It’s hard to accept that we’re one and the same flesh.” — Kate Tempest

Our world is divided into a million different sections refusing to unite as one, each side not wanting to believe, let alone hear, what the other has to say. But borders aren’t the only thing separating us. What we need is more compassion and love and human connection, less hatred, less conforming to the walls society has built. My only wish is that we see each other for who we are underneath. Beyond race and political views and skin color, everyone is just as human as the rest. We need more than just peace and hope and thoughts and prayers. We need change and movement and truth.
