This is what I know to be true. Our generation is powerful.
I know it is true that we have grown up in a modern world surrounded by people who look, act, and present themselves differently. And our generation embraces them.
Social media keeps us connected and presents a platform where one person’s revolutionary idea can spread like wildfire. This is true because I have seen it happen. Together we humiliated the president at his rally and now Fox news thinks that the Manny flag will be the new flag.
It is true that this generation is brave. We have survived mass shootings and continue to fight for reform. Hundreds of thousands of us have taken to the streets to protest the injustice in our country. Some have even organized these protests. We are not afraid to speak our mind.
I know it to be true that when other generations may have turned a blind eye or could only gather partial support, Generation Z is united. We rally each other and build each other up. We have common goals and are willing to fight for them.
Gen Z is the most diverse, open minded, connected generation that the world has ever seen. We are strong and we need to use our growing influence for good. But I know we will. When I think of our generation and the power we hold, I feel hopeful for our world and its future. This is what I know to be true.
