Who Do You Think I Am?

By Elle Gordon, TIWP Student

“Who do you think you are?” I think I am the same as you think I am. I am anxious, stubborn, irritable, and opinionated. Sometimes I am selfish, lazy, annoying, or cowardly. But this doesn’t make me unworthy. The pimple covered face you call ugly is the same one my pups kiss every morning. When you call me selfish and lazy for relaxing, I am actually fueling my soul so I have more to give to others. When you yell at me for being stubborn or opinionated when I raise my voice, I am actually starting important conversations. So I am the person you think I am, a stubborn, selfish, loud girl who doesn’t want to change out of her pajamas. And that’s exactly who I want to be.
